Leanne Bullard

Artist bio

Born in Sydney I have lived in most states of Australia, travelling with my partner who is in the Australian Defence force thus giving me an opportunity to experience a wide range of our wonderful flora and fauna, the main source of my inspiration.?? I have lived in the Liverpool region with my now grown family for the past 20 years.
I have developed the methods that I love by self experimentation and following on line tutorials.??I’m a lover of colours with botanical details. I create imaginative, colourful paintings with inspiration that is derived from the natural world, my urban landscape and my imagination. I love mixed media and will usually include Acrylic Inks, Acrylic paints, watercolours, prints, handmade papers, charcoal, pens and just about anything I can get my hands on! ??I love creating things that show a bright and quirky side of nature and make me happy.

I create art because...

It relaxes me and takes me away from the everyday, I also love to experiment with colours, the way they interact, they make me feel good!

I am different to most artists because...

I don't think I am really. We all create because we "have" too and I feel like there is something missing when I don't, but I think most artists are like that . I'm largely self taught by doing on line classes and tutorials.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

Happy, that your getting a glimpse of our wonderful native flora and Fauna but with my colourful spin on it.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

Anyone can be creative. We just have let go and try, have fun and enjoy the process and stop telling yourself you can't do it!

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

It’s a visual form of communication and expresstion. Art reaches into every aspect of our lives; Not just the art on our walls but in the clothes we wear, the buildings we live in, the music we listen to, the books we read, it makes us feel.
