Ayesha Grace

I am an artist based in Sydney, Australia. Art has always played a substantial part in my life, allowing me to communicate ideas, thoughts and emotions through portraiture. The composition and symbolism in my art provide a way to escape and create my reality, illustrating my curiosities and a reflection of inner thoughts and emotions. My art has changed throughout the years as I have experimented with charcoal, photo transfer, watercolour, oil and acrylic. Currently, I predominately work in oils and acrylic, but I occasionally play around with charcoal. I want the viewer to be taken in by the colours and patterns to navigate their own emotional and psychological terrain and experience a personal connection to the subject. Women and their identities have habitually been the subject of exploration - a celebration of different cultures and experiences.
