Artist bio

Cathie lives in the beautiful mid north coast of NSW, Australia and creates artworks with a variety of mediums. Her education in art has been self-directed, with the undeniable influences of fellow inspiring artists.

By exploring the concept of the earth's surface in a nostalgic way, she investigates the dynamics of our environment and manipulates its effects to create a sometimes altered meaning.

Her works often reference recognisable form although some works are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.

Cathie has conducted workshops in various mediums and has sold artwork locally and internationally, fulfilled commissions and won awards in exhibitions.

I create art because...

I create art because I love to play with colour, line and shapes, whether it's representational or abstract. Either way it's me expressing my inner most feelings at that time.
