Salsa Verde Design

Artist bio

I'm Diya, an exuberant colour and pattern enthusiast, artist, textile designer and the owner of a boutique Sydney-based homewares label, Salsa Verde Design. For me, colour isn’t just about aesthetics, rather a language I use to tell a compelling story. A story of culture, beauty and interconnectedness. Intricate, energetic and delightfully vibrant, my work is a reflection of my multicultural upbringing, inspired by nature, travel and my musings of the world around me. Being a mixed media artist, I create all my artworks by combining handmade and digital techniques. They are often heavily layered and reflective of our lives and us as people and a community. That we are multidimensional, complex and forever evolving.

I am different to most artists because...

I've been lucky enough to have a multicultural and eclectic upbringing that influences by work both directly and indirectly and not have to rely on trends to create unique and original pieces

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

Positivity, good energy and joy

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

It has the power to make us see the world with fresh eyes
