Artist bio

My aim in making artwork is to create some magic for the viewer. I have always worked with my hands. The whole process of creating with all its joy, frustrations, problem solving and life lessons is absorbing for me.
My artistic journey has brought me to this place, where I create abstracts in acrylic medium. Images of places I have travelled and felt an affinity with, inform me as I paint. I particularly love the sea and coastline, where you can sit, meditate and wonder at Nature. I also love the images and colours of the Australian interior. The colours from these worlds dominate my palette.
I've attended various classes with different artists, in different countries, working in different media from painting, crafts, printmaking to sculpture and set design for in local theatre. I am for ever learning, responding and changing. For now, I am loving exploring shape and colour in this new world of abstract painting.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

some magic.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

stop ans smell the roses

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

it provides respite from the world. The magic it provides to feed the soul.
