Artist bio

As a self-taught and emerging Sydney abstract artist, my artistic practice is a means of introspection and self-expression.

Nature is my boundless source of inspiration. The beauty and awe-inspiring elements of the natural world captivate my imagination and inform my artistic choices. Fusion between my own personal experiences and a deep love for both the African and Australian environments are central to my creative work. Expression of my authentic organic process demonstrates my feelings through a visual language using colour and mark-making to express emotions. Painting has provided a sanctuary for self-expression, healing, and personal growth.Through my mixed media art, I find solace, joy, and a sense of openness to the environment where I'm able to show aspects of how I connect with the world through the expression of my visual poetry.

Finalist in 2023 Hunter's Hill Art Prize and Exhibition as well as ‘Best of the Exhibition’ for The International Women’s Day Art Prize 2021.

I create art because...

it makes me extremely happy, calms me and is an opportunity for me to tap into my inner world to reflect the world around me.

I am different to most artists because...

I am simply being myself, expressing the world I see intuitively through moving colour across various surfaces.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

the joy, the calm, the movement, the aliveness and connection.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

find what makes you happy and do more of it.

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

as we create it, or look at it, it is possible for us to be transformed, healed, influenced and moved with the wonderful and simple act of looking.
