Leanne Taylor

Leanne is based in the Hills area of Sydney, working out of a studio that backs onto the beautiful Hunts Creek giving her daily inspiration.
Her artistic style is influenced by nature, her artistic focus revolves around infusing indoor spaces with colours and lively botanical elements that she encounters outdoors and while not adhering strictly to realism she strives to capture its essence by infusing her pieces with bold, quirky and vibrant botanical elements
Mixed media, collage & linocut printing form the cornerstone of her work and Leanne's artistic journey has largely been self-directed, developing techniques and approaches that resonate with her through experimentation with multiple mediums.
She has had the privilege of exhibiting and successfully showcasing her work in a number of Sydney galleries including Gallery 11:11 and Casula Powerhouse
Leanne's art radiates the exuberant and unconventional aspects of nature, bringing joy to both herself and those who appreciate her work

I create art because...

It relaxes me and takes me away from the everyday, I also love to experiment with colours, the way they interact, they make me feel good!

I am different to most artists because...

I don't think I am really. We all create because we "have" too and I feel like there is something missing when I don't, but I think most artists are like that . I'm largely self taught by doing on line classes and tutorials.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

Happy, that your getting a glimpse of our wonderful native flora and Fauna but with my colourful spin on it.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

Anyone can be creative. We just have let go and try, have fun and enjoy the process and stop telling yourself you can't do it!

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

It’s a visual form of communication and expresstion. Art reaches into every aspect of our lives; Not just the art on our walls but in the clothes we wear, the buildings we live in, the music we listen to, the books we read, it makes us feel.
