Artist bio

My work presents indigenous and migrated flora discovered from my many walks using the camera to explore the seasonal changes in Bulla and beyond.
After migrating to Australia from Scotland in 2009, I embarked on a new life with different challenges.
I strived to find a commonality with my home and had to look no further than the Sky and landscape of Bulla.
The light and flora reminded me of home and helped me make the transition.
The images are a search for a particular light, a discovery of unique shades, colours and textures of the local flora.
The post-processing aspects are given equal attention, revealing more abstract layers.
The work is an invitation for the viewer to see beyond the presenting image.
