Maher Al Khoury

Maher was born in Homs, Syria. A passionate artist from a young age, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1988 and went on to have a colourful career practising and teaching art. He has worked across the Middle East as a university lecturer and freelance graphic designer. His work has also been exhibited in Syria and Abu Dhabi at esteemed arts exhibitions. Maher came to Australia in February 2017, exhibited at the Peacock Gallery in 2019, and is now working with Settlement Services International (SSI) as the lead artist and teacher in a series of visual arts workshops. He also offers private tutoring in academic drawing and has made a number of commissioned works in Australia.
