Marina Chamberlain
Artist bio
My paintings are inspired by the patterns and shapes of the natural world but most of all by colour which is the springboard of my creativity. I am intrigued by how colour, like music, can evoke feelings and memories and I hope the interplay of brushwork and paint can translate these personal feelings to the viewer.
I am interested in sweeps of colour and line, texture and shapes. My paintings are multilayered with spontaneity to reflect my personal visual language and the joy I feel in the painting process itself. But my paintings are grounded in my personal life experiences and always relate to a place and a story which I hope can in some way touch the viewer.
