Artist bio

Marina Fadeev was born in Almaty, the former capital of Kazakhstan. Her artistic journey began in childhood, and by age nine, she enrolled in a specialized art school to nurture her talents. Today, she resides in Melbourne as a dedicated full-time artist. Marina’s passion for art is intertwined with her love for travel, both within Australia and abroad, which continuously fuels her creativity. She draws inspiration from the everyday beauty of nature, encompassing flora, fauna, and the enchanting play of light in our world. Her preferred medium is oil, although she fearlessly explores various mediums, including acrylic, gouache, and more in her artistic pursuits.

I create art because...

art allows me to represent my thoughts and my life. I create art because it has always been something that has brought balance to my life. Art is something I have always been drawn to, even as a young child. Art is the one thing in my life that I can always have complete control over. I’ve used art creation to release very negative emotions, and other times art has been a way for me to express great joy.

I am different to most artists because...

I aspire to depict the beauty in nature, the beauty of everyday life. I love to explore elements of art – line, shape, space, color, light, etc.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

I want you to feel something peaceful, serene, and soft. Some of my artworks with playful lightning splashes and colorful strokes may cause you to feel bright, hopeful, and delighted.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

I am not saying that making art is easy but I think most people either don't think they are capable of doing it or they just think it is too much work, which is kind of understandable since people who don't have a team have to do everything themselves.

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

Art is not just an expression of emotion but also a medium for communicating ideas. It can act as therapeutic relief, a conduit for self-expression, or simply a way to appreciate life's beauty.
