Melanie Bardolia

I am a Melbourne based artist who works predominantly in oils and mixed media. I paint portraits, the human figure, landscapes and semi abstract paintings.
Faces,places,light pattern on objects,the human figure and the beauty and emotion evoked by colour and light inspire me to paint.
I am interested in capturing the essence of the subject. I use bold expressive impasto marks and a colourist palette to portray the subject in a painterly manner.
My work has been exhibited in group shows in Australia. In 2018, I was a featured artist in The Art Lounge at Cambridge Studio Gallery in Melbourne. I have been a finalist in portrait prizes at Cambridge Studio Gallery in 2015 and 2017 and at the Southernbuoy Studio Gallery portrait prize in 2019
