Artist bio

I am an artist and surface pattern designer living in Sydney. I create botanical artworks and surface pattern designs. My work is influenced by the concepts of self growth and I believe that nature can be seen as a mirror to life and human personality and depict this connection through my art.

I create art because...

I think of creating art as a way of expressing myself and my thoughts. I think of it as a medium to tap into my and express my imaginative personality.

I am different to most artists because...

I feel all artist have their own unique approach towards how they create and at the same time we are all connected with one commonality which is that we love to create. My approach is to create art mindfully and what I mean by that is, I want to create while being aware of what emotions come up for me during the process of creation, what thoughts I would like to express through my work. I want to be mindful of those thoughts and emotions and make my artworks using them as a starting point.

When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...

I would love if you people can feel a sense of calm and peace when looking at my art. You can experience calm and peace even within darkness and I would love for people to feel that when they see my work.

The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...

Everyone has the ability to be creative in different aspects of their lives, you just have to tap into it.

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

I think art is a great language for communication. In some case it has a way of connecting people and showing us that we are not all that different from each other. In other cases it has a way of showing why and how we are different from each other and how we can be accepting, mindful and respectful towards these differences.
