Samuel Brett

Artist bio

My name is Samuel Brett, and I was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1995. I've always had a passion for drawing and painting, and I grew to love traditional realism once I started taking classes at Peninsula Art Society when I was 10 years old.

Here, I realized that I wanted to pursue my career in this field.

My influences were Diego Velazques, Edward Hopper, Rembrandt, Casper David Friedrich, Caravaggio

I went on to study for my Diploma, where I earned my qualifications in Visual Arts.

I further expanded my knowledge by working with oil paints, charcoal, and graphite, where I found my passion for painting cityscapes, landscapes, and portraiture.

I work primarily in oil paints and currently work from nature and street scenes to capture a sense of realism to the viewer.
